I'm a lifelong learner and educator with a background that bridges biomedical science, curriculum design, and many classrooms. I hold a Bachelor of Science from Western Carolina University and a Master of Biomedical Sciences from Duke University School of Medicine. I am currently midway through my MD at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completing a Master of Education in Curriculum Development and Instruction at the University of Virginia. I believe understanding how people learn is just as important as knowing your subject — which is why I've pursued both simultaneously.
Before medical school, I had the privilege of teaching at The Mount Vernon School in Atlanta, Georgia. I began with K–5 science students, then moved into the high school where I served as Head Innovation Diploma Science Educator. I designed and taught courses from the ground up — including Neuroscience, Molecular Gastronomy, Biomimicry, and Natural Products Chemistry — tailored for curious, motivated learners at every level. That experience taught me that the right teacher in the right environment can completely transform a student's relationship with learning.
My tutoring philosophy is simple: meet students exactly where they are, make the material feel real and relevant, and build enough early confidence that momentum takes over. I work comfortably with learners from elementary school through college and beyond. I also offer ukulele instruction for beginners of all ages — because music, like science, is most powerful when you realize you're the one making it beautiful!

Approved Subjects

Genetics

Genetics

Genetics is at the core of my academic and medical training. I hold a Master of Biomedical Sciences from Duke University School of Medicine, where genetics, molecular biology, and cellular science formed the foundation of my graduate coursework. I am currently midway through my MD at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where understanding genetic mechanisms is central to clinical medicine. As a former high school science educator at The Mount Vernon School in Atlanta, I have experience breaking down complex biological concepts — including heredity, DNA, gene expression, and molecular genetics — into clear, engaging lessons for students at every level.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I designed and taught a Neuroscience course from the ground up as Head Innovation Diploma Science Educator at The Mount Vernon School in Atlanta, Georgia — bringing concepts like brain function, neuroplasticity, and the nervous system to life for high school students. I hold a Master of Biomedical Sciences from Duke University School of Medicine and am currently midway through my MD at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. I am also completing a Master of Education in Curriculum Development and Instruction at the University of Virginia, which means I don't just know the science — I know how to teach it. Whether you're a curious middle schooler or a college student tackling your first neuroscience course, I can meet you exactly where you are.
