Experienced tutor specializing in math, SAT math, and biology

Michelle W.

Hi! I'm Michelle, a sophomore majoring in neuroscience and behavioral biology at Emory University. I have extensive math tutoring experience, having tutored throughout high school. Subjects I have taught include algebra 1, algebra 2, pre-calculus, calculus, and SAT math. I boosted students' confidence, improved their knowledge, and increased their performance on exams very quickly. I even improved students' SAT math scores by over 100 points. I also earned a 1570 SAT score and an 800 math subscore.
My tutoring methods include breaking down complex topics, practicing solving problems together, and adapting my teaching strategy to learners' learning styles. I spend tutoring sessions teaching concepts and demonstrating how to solve problems while also guiding students as they work through the problems on their own.
I previously tutored students of all ages, from elementary school to high school. I have been tutoring since 2022, and I have tutored small classes or one-on-one. Specifically, I tutored through volunteer organizations such as Schoolhouse.world and Learnify+.
