Hi! My name is John, and I am a fourth-year Industrial Engineering student at Georgia Tech with a CS minor and Finance certificate. I have a strong background in quantitative subjects including mathematics, statistics, physics, finance, and data analysis. I have been tutoring students since high school and enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that can initially feel challenging. At Georgia Tech, I have also worked as a teaching assistant for Industrial Engineering courses including Engineering Economy and Stochastic Manufacturing & Service Systems. As a TA, I helped college students understand complex quantitative concepts, work through problem sets, and prepare for exams through office hours and individual support. I also have strong standardized test experience, including a 1530 SAT score, which allows me to help students prepare effectively for standardized tests using strategies that worked well for me.
My tutoring experience primarily involves working one-on-one with students to strengthen their understanding of mathematics and analytical problem solving. I have worked with students across a wide range of levels, from middle school and high school math through early college quantitative courses. My goal as a tutor is not just to help students arrive at the correct answer, but to help them understand the reasoning behind each step so they can confidently solve similar problems on their own.
In addition to academic tutoring, I enjoy helping students develop broader analytical and career skills. During college, I completed multiple internships and secured a full-time Investment Banking Analyst role after converting a summer internship. Because of this experience, I am happy to help students with internship preparation, interview practice, and developing the analytical thinking skills that are valuable in many academic and professional settings. I primarily offer online tutoring and maintain a flexible schedule, while also being open to in-person sessions within the Atlanta area.
