Hello! My name is Sanjana and I’m a college freshman at Emory University majoring in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. I am to tutor students in biology, chemistry, math, and english. I’ve taken advanced coursework in high school including AP Calculus AB/BC (5,5), AP Chemistry (4), AP Biology (5), AP Statistics (5), and AP Literature (5), and I enjoy helping students understand material rather than just memorize it.
Beyond my rigorous coursework, I’ve spent several years tutoring and mentoring students of different ages and learning levels. I’ve worked one-on-one and in small groups to teach middle-school and high-school math, develop custom lesson plans aligned with California State standards, and support early literacy and reading comprehension through structured phonics-based programs. I’ve also led and trained other tutors, giving me a strong foundation in instructional strategy and student engagement.
Additionally, my background in scientific research and clinical exposure allows me to teach STEM subjects with real-world context, helping students connect classroom material to practical applications. I’ve conducted laboratory research in cancer biology, published scientific work, and participated in medical education and hospital observation programs. This experience allows me to explain complex concepts clearly and thoughtfully, especially for students interested in science or medicine.
