Through my experiences, I discovered how powerful math can be as a problem-solving tool, which ultimately led me to my current graduate work in bioinformatics. Because of this, I’m passionate about helping students who may be struggling with math or who feel disconnected from it. I understand that not liking a subject often isn’t about ability, but about how it was introduced, taught, or experienced. My goal is to broaden the way students think about math by showing them that problems can be approached from multiple perspectives and that there isn’t always just one “right” way to get there. I focus on building understanding rather than memorization, so students feel more confident and capable.
I use practical tricks, analogies, and engaging practice methods to make math feel more approachable and less intimidating. By helping students develop a stronger foundation and a new way of thinking about problem solving, I hope not only to support their academic success, but also to open the door for curiosity and potential passions—whether that’s in STEM or simply gaining confidence in a subject they once thought they couldn’t handle.
