Hi! Over the past 3 years, I worked for my university’s tutoring center as a peer tutor while earning my bachelor’s degree in math and computer science. During this time, I tutored undergraduate students one-on-one in linear algebra, calculus, and algebra- & calculus-based physics on a drop-in basis at a tutoring lab serving 60+ students per day. I also served as a team leader, in which role I wrote and graded hiring exams and conducted training sessions for new tutors. I am currently a master's student studying Computational Science and Engineering with a focus on computational fluid dynamics.
As a tutor, I focus on building real conceptual understanding by guiding students through the problem-solving process at a pace that feels comfortable and productive for them. I use plenty of examples and hands-on practice, emphasizing how new ideas build on prior knowledge so concepts connect naturally. Since I was trained as a peer tutor, my style is approachable, responsive, and collaborative: I work through problems alongside students, asking guiding questions and encouraging them to explain their thinking as we go. This allows me to identify gaps in understanding and address them in a clear, constructive way.
I hold an ITTPC CRLA Level 2 tutoring certification and scored a 5 on the AP Calculus BC and AP Physics C exams.
Whether you’re looking to strengthen your foundation, keep up with a challenging course, or gain confidence in problem-solving, my goal is to make each session focused, engaging, and tailored to your individual needs. I aim to create an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions and leave each lesson with a clearer understanding and practical strategies you can use independently.
