Hello! My name is Sruthi, and I’m a Microbiology Lab TA for Georgia State University (GSU). I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in General Biology from Augusta University. Currently, I am pursuing my Master of Science degree for Biology in the Research concentration at GSU.
I have taught many different levels of students, from Elementary to middle school to undergraduates. I spent my high school summers teaching young kids English, Math, and Writing for multiple hours a week. After undergrad, I taught kids how to do fun science projects and explained the concepts behind them during a STEM summer camp. Now, as a graduate student, I am teaching my own Microbiology lab class of 24 undergraduates.
Along with my extensive teaching experience, I also have taken many types of subjects and classes during my undergraduate years, including Anatomy and Physiology, Community Field Ecology, Spanish Translation, and Cultural Anthropology. In grad school, I’ve also taken more in depth versions of my undergrad classes, like Cell Biology and Genetics. I hope to use all of my experience to help you achieve your goals, no matter how small or big.
Though I have not taught students with special needs, I myself have dealt with learning difficulties over my academic career and have taught myself the techniques that helped me succeed in further education, including professional communication, study skills, and time management. Please feel free to share in detail what kind of support your student needs, and I will be eager to help them succeed in their endeavors. I hope to speak with you soon!
