About Yarden

Bio

Hi, I'm Yarden! I have a bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science. After applying my mathematical expertise in the technology industry for 7 years, I realized that I wanted to have a more direct impact on my community and decided to pivot to education. In my previous career as a product manager, I often had to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, which prepared me well for teaching.

While I have always enjoyed math, I understand that that is not the case for many students and I and aim to help even students who despise the subject find the fun and enjoyment in it. I also understand that since math builds upon itself, falling behind on any particular skill or lesson is not an option. I believe that all students are capable of success in math, sometimes it just goes too quickly and it becomes impossible to catch up. That is where I can come in and ensure that students truly understand each building block so they feel confident to move on.

While I was in college I worked as a mathematics and computer science lab aide, where I was available in those spaces for students who needed assistance with coursework. I also have experience as a teaching assistant for the John Hopkins Center for Talented Youths (CTY), teaching college-level math classes to 12-16 year old gifted students. I currently volunteer at the Agape after school program as a homework buddy for high school students, pairing directly with students who need help catching up on math and science.

I want to benefit my students as much as possible and am always available for feedback and questions. Please reach out to me for additional info or scheduling!
