Hi! I’m John and I’m currently completing my master's in bioengineering innovation and design at Johns Hopkins University and am an alumni at Georgia Tech with a degree in biomedical engineering!

My academic foundation includes extensive coursework in math and science, such as calculus, physics, organic chemistry, and systems physiology. Beyond my technical training, I’ve also cultivated strong communication and leadership skills through my involvement as an officer in Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. My experiences have shaped me into someone who not only understands complex STEM concepts but can also explain them in a way that’s accessible and relatable.

I have several years of experience mentoring and tutoring peers in both formal and informal settings including being a TA for an engineering class, a private tutor for students, and a help desk tutor for physics and biomedical topics! I’ve helped fellow students work through challenging math and science problems by breaking down material into digestible steps and encouraging active learning through problem-solving. I tailor my approach depending on the student’s needs—whether it’s filling foundational gaps, building confidence, or preparing for an exam. I also draw from my own learning strategies as a high-achieving student who has successfully tackled rigorous coursework. My tutoring has included one-on-one help for college-level students and small study groups, and I always aim to foster a supportive and nonjudgmental learning environment.

I’m passionate about helping students not just succeed academically but develop a genuine interest in the subject. Whether it’s algebra, biology, or anything in between, I’m excited to support students at the middle school, high school, or early college level. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to schedule a session!
