Hello! My name is Delaney, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you or your child! A little bit about me: I completed an AAS degree from FIT in New York, where I studied Production Management. Afterward, I transitioned to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Georgia State University, where I will be graduating in the spring next year. I have extensive experience working with children ages 3–12, instructing physical and mental activities in a martial arts studio. In particular, I enjoy working with children who have learning or behavioral difficulties, and I always strive to create a patient, supportive environment that encourages growth. Additionally, I worked as a helpline specialist for mental health concerns, where I strengthened my ability to communicate calmly and clearly in high-stress situations. This has helped me tremendously in tutoring settings, especially when students feel overwhelmed or unsure.
My tutoring style is warm, flexible, and student-centered. I focus on helping learners become independent thinkers by guiding them toward answers rather than simply giving them solutions. I believe that confidence plays a huge role in academic success, and I make it a priority to celebrate effort and progress. I also enjoy incorporating interactive platforms, games, and personalized worksheets to keep students engaged—especially younger ones or those who need a little extra encouragement. Whether it's developing language skills, improving organization, strengthening phonics, or learning beginner-level karate, I strive to meet each student where they are. I speak intermediate Spanish, and I’m currently working toward a TEFL certification, which enables me to assist English language learners of all ages.
