Hello, I’m Laura! I graduated Magna Cum Laude in Vocal Performance with a minor in Economics. Currently, I am pursuing an MBA at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

Before my MBA, I served as a Mathematics Staff Member at the University of Baltimore, assisting college-aged students and returning adults in developing their mathematical skills. I also worked as a Graduate Assistant at Johns Hopkins University, supporting faculty and mentoring students in 19th-century music history. Additionally, I provided one-on-one support to graduate-level students—particularly ESL learners—with academic writing. My responsibilities included substituting undergraduate courses, providing pre-exam group sessions, office hour assistance, and grading tests. These experiences deepened my understanding of personalized instruction and strengthened my ability to communicate complex topics effectively.
As a private tutor, I have worked with elementary, middle school, high school, and college students struggling in math. During COVID-19, I supported students from third to ninth grade in their academic studies with group sessions and one-on-one support. Also, I ran a full-time private voice and piano studio for five years that included additional college audition, jury, and performance preparation.

My teaching philosophy is built on the transformative power of personalized, open-minded instruction. With a diverse background in writing, mathematics, private voice and piano instruction, and musicology, I have engaged with students from various disciplines, each with unique learning needs. This has shaped my lesson planning to provide an empathetic, flexible approach, ensuring every student feels supported and valued.

Whether it's improving grades, enhancing test scores, or mastering difficult concepts, I am dedicated to guiding students toward success. I look forward to leveraging my expertise to inspire and empower learners on their educational journey.

During the first few months of COVID, I homeschooled third- and fifth-grade students from two different households, providing instruction in core subjects (English, Math, Earth Science, Social Studies). I created lesson plans, adapted teaching methods to fit each child's learning style, and kept them engaged in a structured learning environment. We read newspaper articles and kept up with the coursework provided by school. In addition to academics, I helped support their social and emotional well-being during a challenging and uncertain time.
