I hold a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Clemson University and I’m earning my Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. As an academic mentor at an afterschool program, I helped students prepare for exams, and many went on to earn A/B and all-A Honor Roll. Students tell me I make hard concepts simple. I explain things from a student’s point of view, step by step, with real-world examples, so the material actually makes sense instead of being memorized. The result is better grades and real confidence.

I tutor Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus (including AP Calc AB/BC), Physics (including AP Physics 1, 2, and C), and SAT/ACT Math.

Approved Subjects

ACT Math

ACT Math

I hold a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and am pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, so the algebra, geometry, and trigonometry on the ACT are tools I use every day. In high school, I completed eleven AP courses and passed every exam, so I know how to prepare for high-stakes standardized tests. I focus on mastering the core concepts plus test strategies like time management and spotting common traps. My goal is for students to walk in confident and finish every section.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra is the foundation of everything I studied for my B.S. in Physics at Clemson and use in my M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. I’ve tutored middle and high school students one-on-one and worked as an academic mentor at an afterschool program, helping students prepare for exams and earn Honor Roll. I explain each concept step by step from a student’s perspective, using real-world examples so the “why” makes sense. My focus is building a strong, confident foundation for the math that comes next.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I hold a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and am pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, where Algebra 2 concepts like functions, polynomials, and logarithms come up constantly. I’ve tutored high school students one-on-one in math and helped my college peers with algebra. I break each topic into clear, manageable steps and connect it to real-world applications. I also prepare students ahead of quizzes and tests so they stay ahead instead of catching up.
Calculus

Calculus

Calculus is central to my work, from my B.S. in Physics at Clemson to my M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, where I use derivatives, integrals, and multivariable calculus daily. I’ve tutored my college peers in calculus and work with high school students in AP Calculus AB and BC. I received 5s on both AP Calculus AB and BC exams. I focus on understanding what derivatives and integrals actually mean, not just memorizing rules, which makes complex problems much easier to approach. I also help students build test strategies for AP exams and college midterms.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I’ve helped elementary students with math homework and test prep as an academic mentor at T-Motion Dance & Afterschool, where many of my students earned Honor Roll. I hold a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and am pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, so I know how important early math skills are for everything that follows. I use simple explanations, real-world examples, and lots of encouragement so concepts like multiplication, division, and fractions click. My goal is for every student to feel confident and capable in math.
Elementary Science

Elementary Science

I hold a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and am pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, and I love sharing that curiosity about how the world works with young students. As an academic mentor at T-Motion Dance & Afterschool, I’ve helped students ages 5 to 13 with science homework and test prep. I connect science to everyday experiences, like why things fall or how plants grow, so it feels exciting instead of intimidating. Sessions build both understanding and a genuine interest in learning.
Geometry

Geometry

Geometry plays a big role in my studies, from my B.S. in Physics at Clemson to my M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, where spatial reasoning is essential. I’ve tutored high school students one-on-one in math, including geometry. Since geometry is so visual, I use diagrams, real-world examples, and step-by-step reasoning, especially for proofs, which challenge many students. My goal is for students to understand the “why” and approach new problems with confidence.
Physics

Physics

I earned my B.S. in Physics from Clemson University, with Dean’s List and President’s List honors, and am now pursuing my M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. I’ve tutored high school students one-on-one in physics and helped my college peers through their physics courses. I tutor high school physics, AP Physics 1, 2, and C, and college intro physics, focusing on the concepts and intuition behind the equations. I also teach a step-by-step method for approaching problems, so students always know where to start.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

As an academic mentor at T-Motion Dance & Afterschool, I’ve helped middle school students strengthen their math skills and prepare for exams, with many earning Honor Roll. I hold a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and am pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. Pre-algebra is where students build the skills, like fractions, integers, and equations, that everything else depends on, so I make sure those foundations are solid. I explain concepts simply and patiently so students feel ready for Algebra 1.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I hold a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and am pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, where precalculus topics like functions, trigonometry, and exponentials are everyday tools. I’ve tutored high school students in math and helped my college peers prepare for calculus. I focus on understanding the concepts behind each topic so students are fully prepared for calculus. I also help students prepare ahead of quizzes and tests so they stay on track.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I hold a B.S. in Physics from Clemson University and am pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, so the algebra, data analysis, and advanced math on the SAT are second nature to me. In high school, I completed eleven AP courses and passed every exam, so I understand how to prepare for standardized tests. I combine concept review with test strategy: pacing, eliminating wrong answers, and recognizing common question types. My goal is to help students raise their scores and feel confident on test day.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

Trigonometry is essential in physics and aerospace engineering, and I use it constantly in my M.S. program at Georgia Tech after earning my B.S. in Physics from Clemson. I’ve tutored high school students one-on-one in math and helped my college peers with trig-heavy courses. I make trig intuitive by connecting the unit circle, identities, and graphs to real-world motion and waves. Students learn not just the formulas but when and why to use them.
Video Production

Video Production

I began video editing over ten years ago, driven by my passion for creating content on YouTube. Starting with skits where I played all the characters, I transitioned into vlogs, recording and editing all my own footage. Over time, I expanded my expertise by editing for others, including creating highlight reels for sports, promotional videos for companies, music videos, and awareness videos for college organizations. This experience has honed my skills in storytelling, visual aesthetics, and tailoring content for audiences.

Highly competent patient tutor

VJ tutored my son for his integrated high school Math 2 class, and essentially helped to fill in my son's knowledge gaps in linear value functions, domains, and ranges. VJ was so thorough and engaging, making sure my son understood each concept with ease and ability to retain the information. He also taught in a very clear and concise way, as he patiently and thoroughly checked on my son's comprehension throughout the session, yet moved at an awesome pace. We highly recommend VJ and will definitely come back again for more tutoring sessions with him!

Emily, 2 lessons with Vj

Knowledgeable, patient, and straightforward.

We worked on velocity, and he did a great job explaining it and walking me through how to solve the problems step by step. Seeing how he worked through each problem made it a lot easier to understand. 10/10, would definitely recommend!
