Your student's success is my primary aim. I am an experienced former college professor who taught junior and senior-level English and Media Arts classes adjunct for an engineering college. My experience also includes designing, developing, and delivering training in corporate environments. Finally, I've taught students in elementary and middle school as a substitute teacher. In each of these roles, I've mentored and tutored students individually to build comprehension and mastery of a given subject.

I have a BA in English, and master's degrees in English and Instructional Systems Design. In addition to teaching, I have been a journalist and a web content strategist in corporate environments. I would value an opportunity to put my experience to work for your learner and show them the practical applications of good writing and communication skills.

Here is how my process works. Our first consultation is free of charge, so we can understand how best to assist your student. As a part of that conversation, we'll get to know your learner and take a look at academic strengths, and those areas in need of improvement. We'll also look at whether or not I'm a good fit as a tutor, and there is no charge to you if I am not.

I employ instructional design methodologies to understand your student's preferred learning styles and determine how we can help your learner meet the goals we've defined together. We will also discuss the specific academic standards your institution uses so we can ensure student goals and objectives are consistent with achievement measures. Together we'll develop a plan for your learner that addresses your specific concerns, incorporates academic achievement standards, and sets the student on the path to success.
