Hi! I’m Grace and I became a neuroscientist by 22 years old! At Spelman College, I pursued a premed biology major with a concentration in neuroscience and a minor in philosophy, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I was one of three students selected for the Spelman and Morehouse School of Medicine BS/MS Neuroscience dual degree program, connected to Harvard Medical School through the Morehouse and Harvard Partnership in Neuroscience Growth (MAHPING) program. This program allowed me to graduate with both a Master’s in Neuroscience from Morehouse School of Medicine, where I received a Certificate of Academic Honors in Scientific Integrity, and a Bachelor’s of Biology from Spelman. I have also participated in the Oxford Chemistry Study Abroad program in England. My unique academic journey, coupled with my research experience, has equipped me with a deep understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to convey complex ideas in an accessible manner.

My passion for tutoring began at Spelman College, where I tutored General Physics I and II, dedicating over 7 hours weekly to help students grasp challenging concepts. Through one-on-one sessions and classroom settings, I assessed students' understanding to tailor my instruction to their needs, guided them through problem-solving techniques, and offered support during lectures. I tutor math from elementary to high school, including Algebra I, Geometry, Trigonometry, Algebra II, and Precalculus. I also provide comprehensive tutoring in biology, chemistry, and algebra-based physics from the middle school to college level.

I believe in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore the subject matter deeply. My approach involves breaking down complex topics into manageable parts, using real-world examples to illustrate abstract concepts, and encouraging curiosity. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also develop a genuine interest in the subject.

Amazing tutor very skilled and helpful Chemistry Tutor!

When I first started my lessons with Grace, I was already behind my peers in the class as I had been enrolled into my summer class a week late, despite that, Grace was able to teach me what I wasn't in the class to learn, go over what topics were covered in class, AND prepare for exams all at the same time. Grace is funny, caring, and patient as well. She also makes sure you understand the material before moving on and helps you find ways to fix your mistakes so you don't repeat them. Grace's methods work as I went from a 60% on my first exam in my summer course to an 85% in less than just a week! Before I worked with Grace I had NEVER passed a chemistry exam ever. Working with Grace will most definitely help you become a better student and learn the material for whatever subject she offers!

Great Teacher First Time Meeting!

I was pleasantly impressed how well Grace did with my daughter! We will definitely be booking another session! She not only has notes for the kids to better understand the material but also she answers every question so the student can better understand!

Knowledgable and engaging tutor

Grace has been teaching me physics and she makes it very enganing and interactive. Ahead of time I send questions i have attempted but have trouble on and from there I explain my work and thinking process she then guides me to understanding and teaches me new concepts. To see if I have a thorough understanding she leaves me to attempt the problem on my own before checking it.

Patient and Thoughtful

Grace is so amazing! I came to her needing help with my accelerated 4 week Physics course, and she was so helpful. She is extremely patient, and never just gives you the answer, she really wants you to think about it and try to figure it out for yourself. I had a goal set for the grade that I wanted to achieve, and with her help I was able to get beyond what I thought I could, and get an entire letter grade higher than I hoped for!

best tutor ever

Grace O. is such an amazing tutor!! She explains everything so well and she makes way more sense than my physics teacher. She always makes sure I understand every aspect before we move on and I think that is really beneficial and when I ask a question that makes no sense she finds away to understand and explain it to me.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

I am currently taking a calculus-based physics course, and although Grace tutors algebra-based physics, she really helped me understand conceptually what is going on, and she derives the same answers. She breaks down complex concepts step-by step, and adapts to my learning space. Additionally, she provides a safe space where there's no anxiety on asking questions.
