Hi! I’m Grace and I became a neuroscientist by 22 years old! At Spelman College, I pursued a premed biology major with a concentration in neuroscience and a minor in philosophy, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Hi! I’m Grace and I became a neuroscientist by 22 years old! At Spelman College, I pursued a premed biology major with a concentration in neuroscience and a minor in philosophy, graduating Magna Cum Laude. I was one of three students selected for the Spelman and Morehouse School of Medicine BS/MS Neuroscience dual degree program, connected to Harvard Medical School through the Morehouse and Harvard Partnership in Neuroscience Growth (MAHPING) program. This program allowed me to graduate with both a Master’s in Neuroscience from Morehouse School of Medicine, where I received a Certificate of Academic Honors in Scientific Integrity, and a Bachelor’s of Biology from Spelman. I have also participated in the Oxford Chemistry Study Abroad program in England. My unique academic journey, coupled with my research experience, has equipped me with a deep understanding of scientific concepts and the ability to convey complex ideas in an accessible manner.

My passion for tutoring began at Spelman College, where I tutored General Physics I and II, dedicating over 7 hours weekly to help students grasp challenging concepts. Through one-on-one sessions and classroom settings, I assessed students' understanding to tailor my instruction to their needs, guided them through problem-solving techniques, and offered support during lectures. I tutor math from elementary to high school, including Algebra I, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Algebra II. I also provide comprehensive tutoring in biology, chemistry, and physics from the middle school to college level.

Patient and Engaging Algebra Tutor

I am very thankful we found Wyzant and especially Grace O. My daughter is a 13 yo high school freshman at a top-rated boarding school. She was very stressed and anxious over her semester 1 Algebra final and called home to say she needed help. We went on Wyzant and found Grace. To say that Grace did wonderful work with her is an understatement. Grace was patient and engaging. On the day of finals, my daughter said she felt very confident after working with Grace. As a parent, that made me feel great. But I was still reserved because you just don't know until you know. We found out over winter break that my daughter got a perfect score on her semester 1 Algebra final. We were in disbelief. And, her teacher actually emailed to acknowledge that she was the ONLY student in class to pass the final with a perfect score (100%). I am positive this outcome is, in large part, due to the work and time my daughter put in with Grace. I highly recommend Grace to any student/parent with math challenges. She is beyond worth the investment!
