Studying for the MCAT or USMLE Step 1 while keeping up with coursework is one of the hardest things a pre-med or medical student faces. I know — I've been through it. And I want to help you get to the other side.

I'm an MD/PhD candidate at Emory University School of Medicine. I've completed all three years of medical school and am currently pursuing my PhD in Biochemistry, Cell, and Developmental Biology — research that has been recognized with an NIH F31 fellowship, a nationally competitive federal grant awarded to select predoctoral researchers. My undergraduate background is in Biochemistry (WPI, GPA 3.9), I scored in the 95th percentile on the MCAT, and I've contributed to 15 peer-reviewed publications, including 2 as first author.

But credentials only matter if they translate into results for you. My approach centers on two things: pinpointing exactly where your understanding breaks down, and rebuilding it around high-yield material. I don't just walk through content — I work through practice problems with you to diagnose test-taking mistakes and knowledge gaps, then build targeted strategies to fix them. Having navigated test-taking anxiety myself, I know how to help you approach exams with confidence rather than dread. This approach has helped many students reach their target scores through personalized study plans, sharpened test-taking strategies, and a relentless focus on high-yield concepts.

I tutor MCAT, USMLE Step 1, Biochemistry, Physiology, Anatomy & Physiology, and a broad range of pre-med sciences. Whether you're an undergrad struggling to connect concepts or a medical student preparing for boards, I tailor every session to where you are and where you need to be.

Reach out and let's talk about your goals — I'd love to help you get there.

Super knowledgeable and versitile tutor

I have used Mina for Physiology, Immunology, and Biochemistry and he has been beyond helpful when it came to topics that just weren't making sense when using my class material. Mina does a great job at breaking the concepts down to bite size and manageable pieces by showing the big picture and focusing on the specific details in order to understand the "why" in the question stem. Also, he is able to bring in and tie different high yield concepts together that are related to each other therefore showing the connection between the concept and clinical implications and correlates. Lastly, when reviewing questions (BRS, Lippincott, class questions), he has given me really helpful test taking skills/ strategies that have helped me when answering questions on my exams. Overall, I have really appreciated all the time and help he has given me to be successful and understand class material.
