Hi, I'm Marina! I graduated summa cum laude from William & Mary with a major in psychology and a minor in mathematics. I am currently getting my masters in social work at the University of Pennsylvania. I have 11 years of experience tutoring students of all ages in math, English, psychology, science, history, and more. Those 11 years include 2 years of working full time as an instructional paraprofessional at an elementary school where I conducted academic interventions for k-5 students in math and English.

Throughout my time tutoring, I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to college level in one on one and group settings. I have additional experience in and passion for working with children who are neurodivergent. In addition to tutoring neurodivergent students, I have worked as a classroom aide for The Summer Treatment Program in Miami, Florida. There, I learned specific techniques and strategies to help students with ADHD succeed in the classroom. I also built my skills working with a broader range of neurodivergent youth as a lead counselor at Camp Starfish, a summer program for youth with unique behavioral and mental health needs including but not limited to autism, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), and ADHD.

As a tutor, I create engaging and interactive lesson plans based on individual student needs and learning styles. I have a strong passion for helping the students I work with succeed and develop their own personal love and drive for learning. Accordingly, I am a big believer in creating a learning space rooted in collaboration and teamwork with my students (and parents for my younger learners). Please contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
