History buff. Education strategist. Lifelong learner. I’ve spent over 15 years turning classrooms into launchpads for student success—first as a Highly Qualified Resource Teacher, now as a certified tutor ready to make learning stick. I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), a Professional 10-Year Teaching License, and I’m bringing all my K–12 expertise straight to your student.

From decoding Shakespeare to mastering MLA essays, building reading confidence to acing history tests, I make learning engaging, interactive, and even fun. Think videos, songs, hands-on exercises, and tech tools—all designed to meet each student where they are and take them further. I specialize in students with IEPs, dyslexia, or learning challenges, but honestly, any scholar who wants to win at school will thrive here.

Let’s turn “I can’t” into “I got this.”

ACT English

ACT English

I bring over a decade of experience in K–12 education, combining classroom teaching, intervention strategies, and individualized student support. My expertise spans English Language Arts instruction, literacy development, and advanced phonics, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. I am adept at designing differentiated lessons that meet state and international standards while accommodating diverse learning needs, including students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and other learning differences. I integrate evidence-based instructional approaches, including Orton-Gillingham and data-driven progress monitoring, to ensure academic growth. My teaching emphasizes critical thinking, effective communication, and student agency, fostering a love of reading and writing. I have experience in both public and private school settings, including international and bilingual classrooms, and I leverage digital tools such as interactive platforms, adaptive assessments, and gamified learning (e.g., Blooket) to engage students meaningfully. Additionally, I support families through advocacy and guidance to navigate educational systems, ensuring that students receive appropriate interventions and opportunities to thrive academically and socially.
American History

American History

I acquired my BA in History (2005) and taught multiple subjects, including Science, History, Writing, Reading, Math, in a public school setting from 2009-2015.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught in elementary settings since 2013. I am currently working as an ESL instructor online with VIPx (TAL Education) as a remote ESL instructor since Summer 2018.
Physical Science

Physical Science

I taught Science in 2014 at a local school district. I constructed lesson plans that met Common Core Standards for the state of Mississippi, as well as correspond with parents and supervisors on PowerTeacher. I formulated tests and kept progress reports, as well as request extra aid for students in need of RTI (Response to Intervention). I made sure my lesson plans were incredibly, "hands-on."
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

From 2013-2015 and 2018, I was an Instructional Resource Teacher, creating short and long term benchmark goals in Math, English, and Reading for students with IEPs. For Math, my modified lesson plans relied heavily on interactive, visual, hands-on activities. Every student had their own successful learning routine; therefore, my Math lessons were built heavily on differentiated instruction.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I have taught as an Instructional Resource Teacher in Shelby County Schools (Memphis, TN), October 2013 to December of 2015. I specialize in creating IEPs for children who meet the 13 conditions listed in IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities of Education Act). I create short and long term benchmark goals and modify/accommodate the student's learning content to reach achievable/attainable measures.
World History

World History

For 20 years, I have acquired and maintained my BA History at Millsaps College (Jackson, MS) with a focus on the French Revolution and the Age of Enlightenment (France).
Writing

Writing

I worked at my college's writing center, aiding peers with proper APA/MLA formatted essays from 2000-2004 (work study). In 2018, I tutored English majors at my local university. I properly proofread and edited college essays and instructed how to cite sources correctly, as well as oversee the use of proper punctuation/grammar, etc.
