National Speech and Debate Champion and Coach

I am a national speech and debate champion with several years of experience coaching students in both public speaking and competitive debate. My own competitive career spanned numerous leagues, including Stoa, NCFCA, ASDA, and Incubate, which exposed me to a wide variety of formats, judging styles, and competitive philosophies. That breadth of experience gave me a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to succeed across different circuits, and it's something I draw on constantly when coaching students who may be competing in one league or preparing to branch into several.

Over the years I've worked with students across a range of ages and skill levels, from beginners nervous about their first tournament to advanced competitors refining their technique for national-level competition. I've coached in person and online, which has taught me how to adapt my approach to different learning styles and comfort levels. Because I've competed across so many leagues, I'm able to help students understand not just how to build a strong case or deliver a polished speech, but how expectations and strategy can shift depending on the format and judging pool they're facing. Whether we're working on extemporaneous speaking, cross-examination strategy, case construction, or evidence analysis, I tailor each session to the student's specific goals and circuit.

What I enjoy most about coaching is watching students find their voice, sometimes literally. Many arrive uncertain about speaking in front of others and leave not just stronger competitors, but more confident communicators in every part of their lives. I bring patience, structure, and genuine enthusiasm to every session, and I'm committed to helping each student grow at a pace that works for them.
