I am currently pursuing a dual major in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics, where I have completed advanced coursework in data structures, algorithms, discrete mathematics, calculus, and linear algebra. My academic training has given me a strong foundation in both the theoretical and practical sides of problem solving. Through programming projects and backend development work, I have gained hands-on experience applying these concepts in languages such as Java and Python, particularly in building and debugging structured, efficient systems.
I have experience helping peers understand challenging technical material in one-on-one settings, particularly in university-level computer science and math courses. In these sessions, I focus on breaking complex topics into smaller logical steps and helping students build intuition rather than memorizing procedures. For example, when teaching algorithms or calculus concepts, I emphasize understanding why a method works before moving to implementation. I adapt my explanations depending on whether a student benefits more from visual walkthroughs, guided practice problems, or structured repetition.
Most of my tutoring experience has been with college-aged students in individual sessions, though I am comfortable adjusting explanations for motivated high school students preparing for advanced coursework. My goal as a tutor is to help students develop independent problem-solving skills and confidence, especially in subjects that often feel overwhelming at first. By combining a strong theoretical background with practical programming experience, I aim to help students not only improve their grades but also genuinely understand the material.

Approved Subjects

Computer Science

Computer Science

I am a Computer Science and Applied Mathematics dual major with strong academic training in data structures, algorithms, discrete mathematics, and systems-level programming. My coursework and programming projects have required implementing efficient solutions in Java and Python, with a focus on time and space complexity analysis. I have experience helping university students understand challenging concepts such as recursion, object-oriented design, graph algorithms, and Big-O analysis through structured, step-by-step problem solving. My approach emphasizes building deep conceptual understanding so students can apply what they learn independently on exams and technical interviews.
Data Structures

Data Structures

I have completed university-level coursework in Data Structures with a strong emphasis on algorithm design, complexity analysis, and implementation in Java. My experience includes working with linked lists, stacks, queues, hash tables, trees, heaps, and graph representations, as well as analyzing time and space complexity using Big-O notation. Through programming projects and peer support sessions, I have helped students understand not just how to implement these structures, but why they are designed the way they are and when to use each one effectively. I focus on building intuition around recursion, pointer logic, and algorithm efficiency so students can approach exams and technical interviews with confidence.
Discrete Math

Discrete Math

I have completed university-level coursework in Discrete Mathematics as part of my Computer Science and Applied Mathematics dual major. My experience includes logic and proof techniques, set theory, combinatorics, graph theory, recurrence relations, and discrete probability. I am comfortable guiding students through direct proofs, proof by contradiction, induction, and counting arguments, with an emphasis on clear logical structure and mathematical rigor. My approach focuses on helping students understand how to construct and communicate formal proofs step by step, rather than memorizing patterns, so they can perform confidently on exams and in upper-level computer science courses.
