My name is Hughes G., and I am currently a Teaching assistant in the University of Georgia's Classics program getting my MA. I received my BA at the University of Alabama in History and English with a minor in Latin. I also acquired Legal history and Classical Civilizations concentrations. I am very proficient in Latin, and I can provide a list of books I have translated from Latin to English upon request. Most notably, I have translated all fifteen books of Ovid's Metamorphoses and seven books from Virgil's Aeneid.
I have experience doing one-on-one tutoring of college level students in introductory and intermediate Latin courses, although I can tutor high school students as well. My teaching method usually revolves around using the Wheelock Textbook or Disce! in order, although I have my own method of teaching the cases and grammar which helps students tremendously. I prefer to stay around campus libraries since they have the proper facilities for teaching such as white boards and spacious desks. Please contact me if you might be interested.
