Hi! My name is Ciara, and I graduated with honors in Biological Engineering. My passion for math and science flourished during college, and I love helping students discover their own confidence in these subjects. My dedication to education has been recognized through awards like being a Virtual International Science & Engineering Fair Finalist and receiving the Outstanding Science Excellence Award from the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

With over four years of experience as a peer tutor at my university, I’ve helped college students master subjects like algebra and pre-calculus. I’ve also taught ACT and SAT math at a local tutoring center, where my personal ACT score of 34 and proven teaching strategies have helped students achieve significant score improvements.

I specialize in math and science tutoring, including algebra, pre-calculus, and ACT/SAT math preparation. My teaching approach is personalized to meet each student’s needs. I begin by assessing the student’s goals and current understanding to create a tailored lesson plan. Each session starts with a review of prerequisite knowledge, followed by introducing the main topic using real-world examples to make it engaging. We’ll work through detailed examples together, and I’ll guide the student step-by-step through problem-solving. Afterward, students will practice independently with my support to reinforce understanding and build confidence.
