Hi I’m Kitty! I am currently a fourth-year student at the University of Georgia. I am majoring in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and World Language Education with a minor in linguistics and I am also currently working on my certificate for TESOL. I have a passion for learning languages and really love meeting people who are learning English! I have nine years of Spanish language experience, I have four years of French language experience, and I also have two years of Korean language experience and a knowledge of basic conversions, grammar, and an ability to read and write hangeul. This past fall, I studied abroad at Yonsei University (a top university) in Seoul, South Korea.

I have had two years of teaching experience; one in a traditional classroom setting as a student teacher alongside an eighth grade TESOL teacher. I would also specialize in group work, as well as one-on-one sessions with the students who needed more help. I then have done a year of tutoring in one-on-one sessions with students ranging from elementary to eighth grade and specializing in ESOL as well as English and Grammar lessons. I have previously specialized in Biology as well as English. As a tutor, I emphasize the importance of introducing the topic in a fun way, explaining the basic concepts, and then help my student attain the materials and information so that they can discover the answer themselves. I prioritize giving my students information to allow them to feel like they can reach the answers themselves as academic self-confidence is so important to me. However, I am able to adjust my teaching as it pertains to each student and each case.

I want my students to be as successful as possible and welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents may provide. I am easy to reach and will provide fast responses. Please contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
