I’ve worked with learners from all backgrounds, each with unique goals and learning styles. My teaching philosophy is centered on meeting students where they are and building a strong foundation—without skipping steps. I believe true understanding comes from grasping both the big-picture ideas and the finer details that connect them.

During sessions, I check in regularly to ensure my students are keeping up and feeling confident. I adjust my teaching style to suit their needs and use whatever strategies are most effective for them—whether that’s drawing out a process, walking through practice problems, or finding the “why” behind the concept.

I’m passionate about science communication and love helping students feel empowered in subjects that once felt overwhelming. Let’s work together to turn confusion into clarity and build real confidence in your learning!

ACT Science

I am a PhD student in Genetics with over 5 years of research experience. My Bachelors was in Biology with a minor in Physics. I have been mentoring and teaching students between high school and undergraduate levels for 3+ years
Biology

Biology

As a PhD student in Genetics, I use science, math, reading, and writing on a daily basis and have completed many years of training to tune these skills. These are skills I enjoy using which is why I chose my career. As someone who has had wonderful academic opportunities such as 4+ years of laboratory research experience, a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Physics from Florida State University, and many mentorship and tutoring opportunities, I hope to share the teachings that helped me achieve them with younger students. I have always incorporated mentorship and tutoring into my academic goals because I believe each student can enjoy the process of learning (even the most cumbersome topics) with the help of a patient tutor.

English

English

Though genetics does not seem to coincide with English as a subject, research intertwines the two. My career relies heavily on reading comprehension of complex papers, and writing multiple grant applications each year. Aside from this, I take personal interest in reading American classics and writing about them for my own documentation. I have also tutored three students by proof reading papers and applications through my undergraduate career.
Genetics

Genetics

I received my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a Minor in Physics in 2021. Outside of this coursework, I worked in 3 different genetics research laboratories, totaling 4 years of research before I began my work in my PhD program which has added another year to my genetics coursework and laboratory training. I specialize in wet lab work and microbiology training. My current work focuses on the relationship between genetics and biochemistry.
