Hi! My name is Hope, and I'm so excited you're here! Below is a little bit about my academic background, personal experiences, and teaching philosophy, so you can get a quick glimpse into who I am beyond my name and profile picture.

I recently obtained a master's degree in special education from The University of Georgia. My coursework focused on adapted curriculum and the applied study of human behavior, which I found deeply enriching and enlightening. I am continuously expanding my knowledge in these areas by pursuing further education and clinical experience, but my passion for learning extends well beyond my academic pursuits. I consider myself a lifelong learner, as I'm always eager to ask questions about anything and everything. This innate drive has enhanced my own growth and empowered me to better serve others.

Having recently completed my studies in special education, I am acutely aware of the challenges that people in this field face. Because I am also late-diagnosed ADHD and autistic myself, I have fostered a unique perspective on overcoming obstacles. By sharing this, I hope to remind my clients that they are not alone in their struggles, and there is nothing inherently wrong with them. Everyone needs help in their lives, and recognizing the power of seeking assistance is essential.

Although we cannot change the brains we were born with, we can learn to work with them rather than against them. This shift in mindset can lead to a transformative effect on one's life, providing a solid foundation for self-growth and development. Psychological flexibility, combined with a deeper understanding of how your unique brain functions, paves the way to self-acceptance, resilience, and a sense of grace with where you are academically and holistically.

With all that said, I invite you to contact me if you would like to know more about me or are interested in working together. As a passionate and committed professional, I would be thrilled to explore whether I am the right fit for you or your child!

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

As a master's graduate in special education from UGA with a focus on autism, I am highly skilled in using evidence-based techniques to teach a diverse range of subjects to autistic individuals of all ages and abilities. With nearly a decade of experience in tutoring, care-giving, mentoring, and coaching, I have a wealth of practical knowledge in working with this population. Furthermore, being autistic myself, I have a unique insight into the challenges faced by autistic people, allowing me to connect with my clients and their families on a deeper level. Study Skills

Through my own trial and error in my educational journey, as well as my training as a special educator at the Master's degree level, I have developed a variety of effective, evidence-based strategies to help clients of all ages and ability levels stay organized, manage their time, and approach studying and test-taking in a way that works for them. My extensive professional experience working with clients targeting study skills, along with my personal experience being ADHD and autistic, has proven that the most effective approach is to tailor those strategies to meet the unique needs of each individual client. I prioritize building strong relationships with my clients and their families, whether working with clients one-on-one or in groups, and I always strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment geared towards academic and holistic success!
