Veteran teacher with more than 20 years in education, my specialty has become helping the most struggling of readers become successful and confident. I began my teaching career as an art teacher, using my first degree in Fine Art. It was there that I fell in love with helping struggling students and I went back to school to get a Master's Degree in Education.
I have worked in a variety of school settings, with various populations, from early childhood through early adult, and have served in roles of classroom teacher, instructional coach, vice principal, and special education/IEP facilitator. I also have experience homeschooling my own children for 4 years and most recently completed my certification as a CALT, working with intensive dyslexia remediation. My current certifications include elementary education, ESOL, admin one, CALT, with sped endorsements on my license. I have a valid Georgia State Teaching Certificate and have a track record of success in helping severely struggling readers learn to read and spell with confidence and ease. I use an Orton Gillingham based program that provides structured, sequential, multi-sensory tier 3 intervention. I work mostly through zoom, but am also currently seeing a few clients in person at this time. Please reach out if you think your child would benefit from the type of intervention I provide.
