Hi! My name is Austin, and I am a tutor specializing in statistics, science, scientific and medical research, and scientific and medical writing.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN (2012), and I earned a Master's of Science degree in Biological Sciences with concentrations in Cancer Biology and Immunology from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in Minneapolis, MN (2016). I have also completed coursework in a Master of Public Health degree program at A.T. Still University (CEPH-accredited MPH degree).
I currently work as an R&D scientific writer for a biotech company in Buford, GA, and I currently assist researchers in publishing their scientific research in my roles as a freelance medical editor and freelance academic journal researcher for two world-class academic manuscript preparation companies. I also have extensive professional scientific laboratory experience as a polymer research chemist and quality control chemist in the medical device, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries, and I was once an aspiring physician, so I have experience preparing for and taking the MCAT examination. I have three years of experience tutoring in math and science for a family who homeschooled all eight of their children. I also have 7 years of experience mentoring and tutoring college-level pre-medical students, preparing them to apply to and achieve acceptance into medical school.
I moved to Atlanta in 2007. I moved from Minnesota to escape the brutally cold and snowy winters, and I have to say that I am truly loving these sunny and warm summers in Georgia! I am a former NCAA college ice hockey player, and much of my childhood and young adulthood was spent navigating how to manage my time between my personal life, academics, and athletics. I have a yellow lab/corgi mix ("corgidor") dog named Oliver, who I adopted as a puppy and who I spend most of my time with, exploring new places in Georgia and hiking new terrain.
I look forward to getting to know you better and
