For nearly nearly twenty years, I've been guiding young minds through the amazing and incredible world of education, first as a tutor, and then after beginning my career, as a teacher-tutor. As an experienced educator with a M.Eds in Educational Psychology, in Elementary Education, and certifications in Gifted Education, STEM Education, PK-2 Education, Elementary Education, I understand the challenges faced by modern students, as well as the need for different learning styles to be considered and utilized in tutoring. I am certified in all subjects of core elementary education, with expertise in gifted education, reading comprehension, writing skills (essay writing, grammar, mechanics, etc), mathematics from arithmetic onward, and test preparation (SAT, ACT, standardized tests), and I have years of experience in all of these areas. I have also spent many years working (in and out of the classroom) on executive functioning skills and with ADHD/ADD learning styles that may need a less-than-traditional approach to their learning.
My classroom has always been a space for exploration, discovery, and joy, and my main goal is to instill a love of learning itself into my students. Following this, I work to equip them with the foundational skills and strategies they need to continue their independent education and growth regardless of tutoring status. I believe in a highly personalized approach to learning, which focuses on building strong foundational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving acuity. I am extremely passionate about helping students not only improve their grades and their skills, but also boosting their confidence and developing a love for the process and possibilities only learning can unlock!
