Hi! My name is Demilya, a college graduate with a degree in English. I am an experienced writing tutor, who has helped high school, college, and adult learners with their writing and overall grammar. I love that fact that through writing I get to see my students improve. It is a joy to watch them catch mistakes that they would have previously not have noticed.

I hold a 120-hour TEFL/TESOL certification that included endorsements in Teaching English to Young Learners and Business English Learners. I have been tutoring collegiate writing and grammar online since summer 2018. My approach is different with each student, but I make sure that the basics of grammar (sentence structure, commas, prepositions, adverbs, etc.) are covered and known before we touch the writing. I feel that by knowing the basics, you, as the writer, can start to recognize mistakes faster; you get the chance to correct yourself. I highlight issues and errors so that we can discuss them further. I make sure that the student is the one doing the corrections. I just bring them to your attention, and we discuss how to correct them.
