Hi! I’m Mandy! I graduated summa cum laude from Valdosta State University in 1999 with an undergraduate degree in secondary education with an emphasis on mathematics. I’ve dedicated the last 26 years to teaching mathematics to others - mostly high school and college students. In addition to teaching algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, I am certified to teach AP Calculus, and I have had many high school students successfully obtain college credit for Calculus I.

In addition to teaching algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, I am certified to teach AP Calculus, and I have had many high school students successfully obtain college credit for Calculus I.

I love getting to know my students and helping them succeed. I am not a fan of giving students formulas and showing them how to use them. Instead, I focus on making sure students can understand formulas and check the reasonableness of their solutions. The ability to think logically is of utmost importance for success in mathematics.

Mandy is an excellent algebra 2 tutor who has deep knowledge of both the subject as well as the homeschool curriculum. In addition, Mandy explains the concepts clearly, moves at the pace of the child (e.g., goes faster if the child can handle an accelerated volume of material), regularly tests concepts, and is very kind and understanding. Mandy truly is an outstanding tutor!
