Chemistry

I am a certified high school science teacher with experience teaching Chemistry, Biology, Forensics, and Physical Science in Cartersville, Ga. With a Bachelor of Science in Education (magna cum laude), I have developed a teaching approach that simplifies complex chemistry concepts into relatable and engaging lessons. I focus on building both conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, helping students not only succeed in their coursework but also gain confidence in their abilities. Whether students need support with foundational topics, lab applications, or exam preparation, I tailor my instruction to their individual needs.
Criminal Justice

Criminal Justice

As a forensic science educator, I specialize in teaching the principles and investigative techniques essential for crime scene analysis, evidence collection, and forensic examination, as outlined in the Georgia Science Standards of Excellence for Forensic Science. I provide in-depth instruction on crime scene protocols/procedures, emphasizing Locard’s Exchange Principle, the Frye Standard, and the Daubert Ruling to demonstrate how forensic evidence must meet legal admissibility standards. My curriculum covers the scientific methodologies used in analyzing physical, trace, and digital evidence, including fingerprint analysis, hair analysis, handwriting analysis, document analysis, soil analysis, fiber and glass examination, chromatography, and spectroscopy techniques to evaluate substances. Additionally, I guide students through biological evidence analysis, where they investigate toxicology, drug effects, blood alcohol content, blood typing, and DNA processing to understand forensic applications in criminal investigations. I also teach students how to interpret bloodstain patterns using physics principles and analyze impression evidence, including fingerprints, footwear, tool marks, and ballistics, to establish connections between suspects and crime scenes. In the field of medicolegal death investigations, I instruct students on determining cause and manner of death through rigor mortis, livor mortis, algor mortis, and gastric content analysis, as well as using entomological evidence to estimate post-mortem intervals. My curriculum is highly interactive and inquiry-based, requiring students to document, model, and reconstruct crime scenes, evaluate forensic reports, and carry out mock investigations to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. By integrating scientific inquiry with forensic techniques, I ensure that students gain practical, analytical, and problem-solving skills necessary for careers in forensic science, criminal justice, and law enforcement.
