Greetings! My name is Eric and I have been a math tutor for over 25 years. I started my degree at Covenant College in their pre-engineering program, however, I ended up changing my major and transferred to Georgia State University. There, I received a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with a Concentration in Secondary Education. I received my Georgia Certification in Mathematics for grades 6-12 and went right into teaching in a public high school. After a few years, I did not enjoy it like I had hoped and started working in the corporate world. I still have a passion for teaching as I helped train employees and used my math skills working with finances.
Throughout my career, I have tutored at several companies including Kumon, C2, and Sylvan. My areas of expertise include all middle and high school math subjects, chemistry, and ACT/SAT math prep. I'm still upset about the fact that I missed 1 of the SAT math questions when I last took the test. I have tutored some basic college and GRE math as well. I attained my teaching certification again, so it is currently valid.
I find joy in seeing students understand a concept. In math, there are several different ways to arrive at the answer. If a student doesn't understand one way, I can show them another. It does not matter how, as long as they follow appropriate steps to arrive at the correct answer.
