Approved Subjects

ADHD

ADHD

As a licensed and certified practitioner for ADHD, and working with 100's of students, I treat it not as a behavioral issue, but as a collection of trainable cognitive skills deficiencies, including deficits in working memory, processing speed, and executive function. Drawing on extensive clinical experiences, I address the root causes of academic and emotional struggles rather than merely managing symptoms. My programs leverage the power of neural plasticity, using targeted interventions to physically strengthen neural pathways and enhance cognitive efficiency. This evidence-based approach empowers students of all ages to move beyond their limitations, resulting in lasting, measurable improvements in learning and daily function.
Common Core

Common Core

Curriculum Integration Specialist. Also a teacher and cognitive learning specialist for over 35 years, specializing in developing evidenced-based literacy instruction. I have expertise in translating cognitive research into classroom-ready Common Core strategies. Skilled in using formative assessment to tailor lessons to individual cognitive processing needs while maintaining interventions that enhance reading comprehension and writing proficiency. Integrate strengthening techniques to support language inquisition and critical thinking.
Dyslexia

Dyslexia

Drawing on decades of professional training and research, my practice integrates an evidence-based understanding of how dyslexia and auditory processing skills impact learning. It is not the same for every student. Difficulties may involve one or more areas, including; phonological or auditory dyslexia (processing speech sounds), difficulty recognizing whole words and spelling patterns, rapid automized naming deficits, sequencing letters, sounds, or words. There are letter of word reversal, visual neglect patterns that causes students to skip, omit, or misread words, plus more. I work with students of all ages and band due to the fact that many experience a combination of these challenges, I evaluate the underlying skills contributing to difficulty rather than a one-size-fits all Every individual can improve when instruction if tailored to how their brain learns best.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

My K-6 instruction is grounded in decades of research into cognitive development, allowing me to build robust foundational skills in students from their earliest years. I specialize in translating complex insights regarding dyslexia and auditory processing into high-impact strategies that ensure all students meet and exceed Common Core literacy standards. By embedding targeted cognitive skill-building directly into daily lessons, I provide a proactive, inclusive environment that identifies and supports diverse learning needs before they become barriers. My teaching approach bridges the gap between cognitive skills and the essential, grade-level rigor required for success in elementary education, where every student achieves academic and foundational mastery.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

As a licensed/certified specialist, with more than 35 years of experience, I identify and strengthen the underlying skills that affect academic performance. These include: attention & concentration, short & long term working memory, processing speed, auditory & visual speed, organization, study skills, logic & reasoning, and reading, spelling, & comprehension skills. This results in successful learning, academic achievement, and life enrichment.
Homeschool

Homeschool

As a homeschooling educator and learning specialist, I help students build strong academic foundations in reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, study skills, and executive functioning. I also specialize in strengthening the underlying cognitive and processing skills that support successful learning. With a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction, I have developed and designed curriculum for multiple schools and educational programs. My extensive experience allows me to create individualized plans that align with academic standards while meeting each student's learning needs, strengths and goals. My goal is to teach them how to learn, think, and become confident, independent learners.
