Hello! My name is Tatiana. I was born and raised in Russia and am a native Russian speaker. I earned my master’s degree from a university in St. Petersburg, where I trained as a translator and interpreter. I have always loved languages and the ways they help us connect with people, understand different cultures, and discover new perspectives.
I have experience teaching children and adults, from beginners to more advanced learners. My students include high school and college students studying Russian, adults learning for work-related needs, people wanting to communicate with Russian-speaking family members, and heritage speakers strengthening their language skills.
My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and structured. I balance pronunciation and speaking practice with grammar and vocabulary development, tailoring lessons to each student’s goals and pace. I enjoy giving clear explanations and helping students make sense of concepts that may seem complicated at first. We take time to practice, revisit difficult topics, and build on what students already know.
Getting to know my students is one of my favorite parts of teaching. Everyone brings different interests, experiences, and reasons for learning Russian, and those help shape our lessons. I want our time together to feel comfortable and engaging, with plenty of room for questions, mistakes, and steady progress.
