I have been tutoring for a short while now. It is very enjoyable to help students who feel a need to converse with me to line up their thoughts and get started with an assignment.
A minor concentration in Management covered topics such as Marketing strategies, supply chain Logistics, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship. This area of study included a course in basic Accounting methods, such as understanding a P&L, Balance Sheet, and Revenue/Loss reporting.
Working in the Human Resources environment for over 10 years in the higher education environment allowed me to meet people from all walks of life. Assisting each applicant, be it for an exempt or non-exempt position, was a challenge I faced every day because all of us learn differently but still need to earn a living. The help I provided to each person was assessing skills, reviewing a resume, and talking about acquired skills and goals. It was exciting to watch people who I helped acquire employment and find success in their field!
After completing my graduate studies at the University of Miami, I relocated to Central Florida and founded a micro business that is still operating today. I understand the basic requirements to start a business and how to operate and maintain operations.
Love for country is what holds my interest in civics education. American History is full of ups and downs. Our government in the US is an important aspect to study and understand. That said, I like to talk about recent American history and politics from the past 400 years.
