Hi! My name is Joey, and I'm a senior at the University of Central Florida working on my Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychology. I was previously a mechanical engineering major, taking all the way up to calculus 2 and intro to C before switching. Last summer, I was also given the opportunity to get my AA degree while attending UCF, and I completed all the general state requirements that year. Since then, I've worked very hard to be put in the position that I am in right now. I volunteer at a child grief clinic, and I am a Lead TA for a 3000-level Applied Statistics class. There, I have to make meeting plans, coordinate the UTAs with meetings and office hours, as well as teach them the lesson plan for that week.
I have been teaching various ages of students for about 6 years, starting in middle school, working and teaching in a kindergarten classroom every morning. I then went to high school, and in my Junior and Senior years, I was one of the leaders of the group, making lesson plans and incentive strategies for younger students to learn more efficiently. I am very patient with children, and I take a more gentle approach to teaching, using more support and positivity methods of teaching rather than a "tough love" some tutors might have. Classes that I can tutor are any psychology class (including statistics for psychology), as well as any middle school or elementary school math, science, or history. I have also played clarinet for 10 years, piano for 4, and guitar for 5. If you need music lessons as well for any instrument starting out I am your guy as well.
