I graduated in the top 10% of my class at the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in Psychology, focusing on research. My background in research, critical thinking, and written communication informs my approach to teaching writing. I have more than 10 years of experience coaching and tutoring students one-on-one and have taught both elementary and high school students in classroom settings. I taught fourth grade for three years and have taught high school Honors English, including English I and II, to ninth- and tenth-grade students. These experiences have given me insight into students' developmental needs and the writing skills teachers expect.
I work with students on literary analysis, argumentative and research essays, scholarship essays, and college application essays. Whether we need to develop a thesis, organize ideas, strengthen analysis, improve flow, or polish a final draft, I offer practical, individualized guidance that helps students understand what isn't working and how to improve it. I want students to leave our sessions with a stronger essay and a clearer understanding of how to approach their next assignment.
