I graduated from Stanford University with Distinction (top 5% of both majors), with Double Majors in Economics and Political Science. My Economics course work included Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, International Economics and Finance, Securities Analysis, and Econometrics. My Political Science major involved a heavy emphasis on both ancient and modern history and political philosophy, along with the usual curriculum relating to Political Science itself. All the courses emphasized analytical skills along with essay writing.

I followed up my interest in Economics and Securities markets by building a successful career in the investment industry, and now work for myself. I have taught test preparation for the securities licensing tests, including the Series 6, 7, 63, 65, and 66. My passion for teaching and helping students has never waned, and during the past 10 years I have taught a wide variety of subjects.

Public Speaking

I have worked exclusively in the Investment and Securities industry since 1983, and for the past 30 years, have been an Investment-products Wholesaler, representing a variety of investment companies and distributing those products through Investment Advisers. A large part of my work involves public speaking -- giving presentations at Investment Conferences (in front of hundreds of attendees) sales meetings, and client seminars. In many ways, public speaking is what I do for a living! I have been trained in public speaking and presentation skills throughout my entire career - and during the last 10 years have turned those talents into part of my business model: I teach other sales people how to present in public with confidence. Through demonstrating and practicing different presentation skills and techniques, I am very confident in my ability to help make anyone a more confident and effective communicator and speaker!
Series 63,

Series 63

I received both my Series 7 and Series 63 at approximately the same time when I entered the investment industry, in 1984. I have worked exclusively in that industry since that time, both on the retail side of the business (working with individual clients) as well as on the wholesale side of the business (marketing investment vehicles to Financial Advisors).
Series 65,

Series 65

I have been Series 65 licensed as well as Series 7 licensed for most of my career in the Investment industry. The Series 65 - which gives one access to the Advisory side of the business, and is needed in order to work with a Registered Investment Adviser - is a very different test than is the Series 7, and is more focused on regulations as well as broader economic and financial considerations.
Series 66,

Series 66

I have worked in the Investment industry for more than 30 years, both in a retail sales as well as Wholesaling capacity. The Series 66 test combines the Series 65, which I hold, along with the Series 63, which I also have; it is a challenging test but one that can be prepared for and mastered if taught the right way.
Series 7,

Series 7

I graduated from Stanford University with double majors in Economics and Political Science, and have worked my entire career in the Financial Services industry. I've had my Series 7 for more than 30 years, my 63 for an equal amount of time, and also have my Series 65.

G! Thanks for everything!

G helped me master the S65! I was super frustrated and had bad test anxiety after failing the S65. He was able to methodically work with me to grasp and learn the information in a way in which the books and online videos couldn’t help me with. Highly recommend G!

You Won’t Find Better!

My son has been working with Guillermo and I asked him to please write about his experience so that I could post it on Wyzant... I have been working with Guillermo in the field of Political Science, and in the simplest terms, he has been an absolute gift and a godsend. He is, without question, one of the most gifted tutors you will ever find. After just one session with Guillermo, I knew immediately that I had found someone to work with for years to come. I have worked with him on numerous very challenging college essays and other assignments, and there is no assignment he cannot tackle. His knowledge of Political Science is incredibly impressive and beyond anything I thought I would find in my search for a tutor. Beyond imparting his knowledge on various areas within Political Science, he has provided me with the ability to approach various topics in the field, both theoretical and concrete, in a deeply analytical, intellectual, and precise fashion, and has done so with patience and ease. Furthermore, he is truly the most gifted writer I have ever come across; he has helped me to enhance writing that I felt was already extremely strong into pieces of work far beyond what I thought I was capable of. Unlike many tutors I have used, Guillermo takes the time to actually teach you how to improve your writing, rather than simply writing the work for you. He has made me a far better analytical thinker and overall writer, and has instilled a confidence in me that I previously did not have. Guillermo forms connections with his students, getting to know and understand them, ultimately allowing him to tailor his teaching to the kind of person and student you are.  In summation, Guillermo is one of a kind, and I cannot wait to continue learning and growing under his guidance.

Passed Series 65!

G has been a huge help! He definitely helped me on some of the subject matter I was not grasping. After working with him for several months, I passed the exam on the first try! I’d highly recommend letting him be your tutor for help with the Series 65.

Very intelligent and helpful tutor

Guillermo N helped me a lot with macroeconomics and studying for my tests as a high school student taking the AP course. He is very patient and helpful, and even more than that he is really flexible with accommodating to when you need help. He is a great tutor that is a huge part of me seeing an improvement in my grades and overall knowledge of the material.

Knowledgeable with great teaching skills

My first session with Guillermo was extremely productive. He was able to quickly narrow in on some of the gaps in my understanding and was able to address them very effectively. I look forward to my next class.

Great Teacher!!! (Series 65)

He has a great way of teaching in such a short period of time. I was able to learn quite a bit that I thought I already knew (but didn’t) in only a 2 hour session! I can’t wait to use him for more classes and see how I do on the next test!
