Hello! My name is Elise, and I tutor elementary through underclassmen high school students in a wide range of math subjects. Mostly in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and introductory Trigonometry, as well as foundational elementary and middle-school math skills.

I bring several years of experience working directly with students. I have mentored younger learners through my Karate institution while earning my own black belt, tutored Geometry after school while taking the course myself, and consistently volunteer as a tutor through my school. These roles have strengthened my communication, patience, and ability to explain concepts in multiple ways depending on each student’s needs.

Academically, I maintain straight A’s, hold a 3.9 unweighted GPA, and am a member of my school’s Math Honor Society. I take multiple AP courses and work with math material daily, which keeps my skills sharp and up to date.

My teaching method is patient, step-by-step, and focused on understanding the “why” factor. I believe that when students understand the reasoning behind a concept and not just the steps, they gain the confidence to apply it independently. I aim to build both skill and confidence so students feel capable and successful.

Tutoring Policies

To ensure sessions are productive and personalized:
-Rate: $30 per session
-Format: Primarily online, but I can accommodate in-person sessions in the Winter Park area if a student learns better face-to-face
-Preparation: Homework, assignments, or specific concepts should be sent before the session so I can plan a lesson effectively
-Free Consultation: A short introduction call to discuss goals, strengths, and needs before starting
