I hold a Bachelor's of Music from the Eastman School of Music, a Master's of Music from Southern Methodist University, and a Performance Diploma from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. I have performed professionally across the US. Additionally, I have studied and performed in Italy, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. My teachers include Metropolitan Opera regulars Allan Glassman, Michelle DeYoung, Clifton Forbis, Jan Opalach and Carlos Montane. These teachers have passed down a pedagogical lineage that goes back to great luminaries such as Margaret Harshaw and others of the Italian School of Singing originating at Garcia, Lamperti, and Melocchi. I have been studying since I was 4 for piano and started at Rollins College when I was 11.
My teaching style is very supportive and uplifting. My goal is to help students reach their highest potential and foster a love of making music. To this end, I try to instill the necessary techniques to allow their artistry to take place, and to guide their development of a sense of style and interpretation through inspiration and exposure to greats who came before us.
I additionally formally studied vocal pedagogy and have experience teaching for the past 6 years. I can help teach students from ages 5 to adults and aspiring professionals. I can teach all ability levels from beginner to professional. I can teach most styles, but specialize in classical and musical theater. Most of my teaching is one-on-one.
