Hi! I'm Nick, a Johns Hopkins University graduate with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a 4.0 GPA. I have several years of experience tutoring and teaching both high school college students.

As a Johns Hopkins PILOT tutor, I worked both one-on-one and with groups of 10–15 students to break down difficult concepts, develop problem-solving strategies, and prepare for exams. I also served as a Teaching Assistant for Organic Chemistry Laboratory, where I taught undergraduate students, led review sessions, graded exams, and was promoted to Head TA overseeing six other TAs and instruction for 60 students.

My goal isn't simply to give you the answer—it's to help you understand why the answer works so that you can approach the next problem on your own. I adapt my teaching style to each student, whether you need to rebuild foundational concepts, work through challenging problems, prepare for an upcoming exam, or simply gain confidence in a difficult subject.

Whether you're struggling with a single topic or want consistent support throughout the semester, I'd be happy to work with you. Let's make difficult material feel manageable.

Algebra 1

I completed Algebra I in 7th grade, finishing the course with an A, and earned a perfect 800 on the Math section of the SAT. I also tutored Algebra I and Algebra II throughout high school, with my students consistently demonstrating positive growth and earning final grades of A- or higher. During college, I continued tutoring mathematics, including Calculus II, in both one-on-one and larger group settings. These experiences strengthened my ability to identify individual areas of difficulty and tailor my instruction to each student's learning style and goals.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I completed Algebra I in 7th grade, finishing the course with an A, and earned a perfect 800 on the Math section of the SAT. I also tutored Algebra I and Algebra II throughout high school, with my students consistently demonstrating positive growth and earning final grades of A- or higher. During college, I continued tutoring mathematics, including Calculus II, in both one-on-one and larger group settings. These experiences strengthened my ability to identify individual areas of difficulty and tailor my instruction to each student's learning style and goals.
Anatomy

Anatomy

I earned a B.S. in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University with a 4.0 GPA, giving me a strong academic foundation in anatomy, physiology, and the biological sciences. My neuroscience coursework required an in-depth understanding of the structure and function of the nervous system and its relationship to the rest of the body. I also have hands-on research experience studying neural systems and animal behavior, allowing me to apply these concepts beyond the classroom. Combined with my EMT experience, I can connect anatomical concepts to real clinical situations and help students understand not just where structures are located, but how they function in the human body.
Biology

Biology

I earned an A in both high school and college biology and scored a 5 on the AP Biology exam. As a neuroscience major at Johns Hopkins University, I completed extensive coursework in biology and related life sciences, giving me a strong understanding of biological concepts from both foundational and advanced perspectives. I also have research experience in neuroscience and animal behavior, where I applied biological concepts in a hands-on setting. These experiences allow me to explain complex biological topics clearly while adapting my instruction to each student's level and learning goals.
Calculus

Calculus

I earned a 5 on the AP Calculus exam and an A+ in college calculus at Johns Hopkins University. I also tutored Calculus II throughout college in both one-on-one and larger group settings, helping students work through challenging problems and strengthen their understanding of core concepts. These experiences taught me how to break down complex calculus topics into clear, manageable steps and adapt my explanations to each student's needs. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding so students can confidently apply calculus techniques to unfamiliar problems.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I earned strong grades in both introductory and organic chemistry during my undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University. I served as a Teaching Assistant for both Introductory Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, helping students understand course material, work through challenging problems, and develop effective study strategies. I also tutored Organic Chemistry, working with students one-on-one to identify gaps in understanding and build their confidence with difficult concepts. These experiences have given me extensive practice adapting chemistry instruction to different learning styles and levels of prior knowledge.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have experience tutoring elementary-aged students (mostly in math) during quarantine who were struggling with their schoolwork or falling behind academically. I worked with students to reinforce foundational skills, complete assignments, and build confidence in subjects where they were having difficulty. This experience taught me how to be patient, encouraging, and flexible when working with younger students who may learn at different paces. I focus on making lessons engaging and approachable while helping students develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed independently.
EMT/ NREMT

EMT/ NREMT

I am a Nationally Registered EMT with hands-on experience providing emergency medical care in both volunteer and professional settings. I successfully completed the NREMT cognitive exam in 70 questions, demonstrating a strong understanding of emergency assessment, patient care, and medical decision-making. My EMT experience has given me practical knowledge of anatomy, physiology, trauma, medical emergencies, and patient assessment that I can connect to classroom material. I enjoy helping students understand not only what to do in an emergency, but the clinical reasoning behind why each intervention is performed.
Geometry

Geometry

I have a strong mathematics background, including completing Algebra I in 7th grade with an A and consistently earning perfect scores on the Math section of the SAT. My coursework in physics and calculus required extensive application of geometric concepts, spatial reasoning, and mathematical problem-solving. I also tutored Algebra I and Algebra II throughout high school and continued tutoring mathematics in college, including Calculus II, in both one-on-one and group settings. These experiences have strengthened my ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and help students develop the reasoning skills needed to solve geometry problems confidently.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I earned a B.S. in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University with a 4.0 GPA, developing a strong foundation in cellular, systems, cognitive, and behavioral neuroscience. I also have hands-on research experience studying neural systems and animal behavior, including research involving sensory processing and cognition in bats. My research experience strengthened my ability to interpret scientific literature, analyze experimental results, and connect complex concepts to real-world neuroscience. I enjoy helping students understand neuroscience at both the foundational and advanced levels while adapting explanations to their individual needs.
Physics

Physics

I earned a 5 on the AP Physics exam and an A+ in both Physics I and Physics II at Johns Hopkins University. My coursework gave me a strong foundation in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, energy, waves, and other core physics concepts. I have also developed extensive experience solving quantitative problems and breaking complex concepts into clear, manageable steps through my academic and tutoring experience. I focus on helping students understand the underlying concepts and problem-solving strategies so they can confidently approach unfamiliar physics problems.
