I bring nearly two decades of experience in higher education student support, with a specific focus on academic coaching for health professions students preparing for board examinations. Most recently, I served as a Learning Specialist at a college of osteopathic medicine, where I worked one-on-one with first- and second-year medical students in a self-directed curriculum. My role centered on individualized academic coaching, analyzing student performance on COMSAE and Qbank assessments to identify knowledge gaps, and helping students build sustainable study strategies ahead of COMLEX Level 1. I also developed and evaluated peer tutoring and mentoring programs, and collaborated with faculty to create learning materials that broke down complex objectives into manageable study plans.
Prior to that, I spent nine years coordinating clinical placements in a university speech-language pathology program, where I supported students navigating rigorous certification and licensure pathways, and worked at two other universities helping students succeed through federally funded academic support initiatives. Across these roles, I've tutored and coached students ranging from undergraduates to graduate and medical learners, both in one-on-one settings and through structured program development. I hold a Master's degree in Student Affairs Administration and a Bachelor's degree in History.
What sets me apart is my specialization in board exam strategy for medical students, particularly those preparing for or retaking COMLEX and USMLE exams. I don't just review content — I help students interpret their own performance data, build individualized study plans, and address the underlying study habits or test-taking patterns that are holding them back. My approach is data-informed, personalized, and focused on building the confidence and skills students need not just to pass, but to retain their knowledge long-term.
