As a Dermatology resident, I have spent many years building a strong academic foundation in science, math, reading, and test preparation. I completed an accelerated 8-year BS/MD program at the highly prestigious University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where I was admitted into medical school during my senior year of high school, and before that I was valedictorian of Olympia High School, graduating with the highest GPA in Orange County. Having recently gone through rigorous coursework, competitive exams, and multiple stages of academic training, I am very familiar with the material and expectations students face from middle school through college.
My teaching style is individualized and student-centered. I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals so I can adapt sessions to what works best for them. For some students, that means quick and focused help with homework, study strategies, or test review. For others, it means slowing down and breaking concepts into smaller steps so they can build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the material. I am especially comfortable helping students in science and math subjects, as well as with study skills and exam preparation.
Throughout my academic and medical training, I have worked closely with peers and younger students in one-on-one and small-group settings, explaining difficult concepts in a clear and approachable way. I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. My goal is not only to help students improve their performance, but also to help them feel more confident, capable, and less overwhelmed by school.
