Hi there! My name is Srika and I am so glad you're here. As a lifelong math learner and enthusiast, I've come to realize something: math is fun when it is easy to understand. My goal as your tutor is to demystify math, and in the process, make it more fun.
I received my B.S. in Statistics with a Data Science concentration from Duke University, and am currently pursuing a M.S. in Actuarial Science from Boston University. Throughout high school, I worked as a volunteer tutor for my local math circle and tutored students who ranged from K-12 in subjects as elementary as counting to complex algebra, over several years. I have tutored individual students and groups of students. I also have experience creating lesson plans, fun unique mathematics activities, proctoring, and math festival games.
Additionally, as a student who scored a 1580 on the SAT in high school, with a perfect score of 800 in the Math section, I am confident I can help your student ace this portion of the exam. Also, I have received 5's on nearly all of my AP exams, including the following: AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Computer Science A. As an avid writer, fan of classic literature, and patient listener, I can also assist with structured writing and college essay guidance. I am a conversational Spanish speaker and can write in Spanish at an intermediate level.
