Hello! I am Dr. Matthew Dittrich. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from The Citadel with a double major in Physics and Mathematics, as well as a Master’s and PhD in Physics from the University of Florida. I did my PhD research in particle and quantum physics at the Large Hadron Collider. I now am an aerospace engineer. My academic and industrial background allow me to help build students knowledge and confidence with real-world problems.
My teaching and tutoring experience spans over a decade, beginning with three years of tutoring physics and mathematics at The Citadel, where I also served as head tutor during my final year. I have worked with middle school, high school, and college students, both one-on-one and in group settings. At the graduate level, I have taught college Physics laboratories and discussion sections, creating lesson plans, designing quizzes, and providing individualized guidance. In total, I have supported over 100 students in mastering challenging concepts and strengthening their problem-solving skills.
My tutoring approach is student-centered and flexible, adapting to the unique needs of each learner. I strongly believe that the best way to understand physics and mathematics is through practice, so I emphasize working through problems together and guiding students step by step. By combining clear explanations with active problem-solving, I aim to not only improve grades but also foster deeper understanding and long-term confidence in technical subjects.
