I first began tutoring during my sophomore year of high school, when I co-founded Orlando Student Tutoring in response to the widespread learning disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As schools transitioned online, I saw many students struggling to keep up, so a few classmates and I built a free, nonprofit virtual tutoring network to support our community. That early experience taught me not only how to explain difficult concepts clearly, but also how to adapt to each student’s unique learning style. Since then, I’ve continued to tutor in a range of academic areas (particularly math, science, and test preparation) helping students of all ages regain confidence and improve their performance. In high school I consistently excelled academically, earning valedictorian of my class and a 1570 SAT score, which strengthened both my subject knowledge and my ability to model strong academic habits for younger students.
After starting college, I joined the Johns Hopkins Tutorial Project, another volunteer-based nonprofit that serves local elementary schoolers in Baltimore. I’ve since expanded my experience by working with C2 Education as an SAT tutor, drawing on my own high AP scores, strong standardized test performance, and rigorous coursework as a STEM major to teach both subject mastery and effective test-taking strategies. I currently maintain a 3.8 GPA and have received recognition for academic achievement in the form of the Dean’s List Award despite the rigorous course load. Across every setting, I emphasize patience, clarity, and personalization; I approach by breaking complex topics into manageable steps and fostering genuine understanding instead of thoughtless memorization and regurgitation. My goal as a tutor is not just to improve grades, but to help students rediscover curiosity and confidence in their ability to learn.
