Hi, I'm Daniel! I graduated from Boston University with a degree in English. Whether it's reading, writing or speaking, I've always enjoyed helping students excel with the language. English is fun when a teacher is passionate about the topic. With more than 10 years experience in the classroom and tutoring, I have many techniques helping students understand different topics. My approach is making the content relevant to your life. What are you going through that's similar to a character's struggle? You'd be surprised! I use lesson plans to set up learning goals and help students exceed those goals using different modalities. Whether it's free talk, writing exercises, or playing word games, our time together will be enjoyable and productive. You'll feel confident in your abilities and your work in the classroom will reflect your dedication to success!

I've spent more than 10 years as a classroom teacher for grades 6-12 in English and Social Studies. Over those same years I've tutored 1-on-1 and in group settings. Many of my students were those needing extra help. However some students also came back to get help for college work and boost their writing skills. My social studies background also helps with students needing assistance in World and American History, Government, Economics, and Psychology. Whether it's English or Social Studies, I will help you not just catch up, but get to the head of the class.

My goal is for you to feel confident in your ability and have that confidence translate into classroom success. I go the extra mile for my students. Feedback from parents and students is very important. If there is something that works well for you, please let me know or make sure your parents provide the information. I respond quickly to all messages. I'm here for your success! Please message with any questions or to schedule a lesson!

Reading,

Reading

With a background in English, I've taught reading comprehension to students for more than a decade. I'm patient and understanding that reading isn't always the easiest thing, but the goal is to make it fun so that your son has positive associations with reading. The more he wants to read, the better the reader he will be. I use different types of methods for activities so the goal is making sure your son will always be interested and excited about what's next in our sessions.

World History

I have taught American History and World History over several years in all levels. In AP courses, I have doubled the passing rate over previous years and I specialize in helping students make associations between people, historical movements and the consequences. Kids understand cause and effect very well, and once history is made less abstract, it's much easier for them to keep the events and concepts in order.
