My name is KC and I have over 30 yrs experience as a graphic designer. I started my career in Advertising, designing ads for magazine and newspapers. I've transitioned from graphic designer to video editor and VFX artist with 10 yrs experience crafting broadcast/cinematic quality content for short and feature films, corporate or entertainment and social media purposes. I've experienced, learned and trained from great mentors. The one thing I took from them was being patient, relentless and passionate about your career. I believe you should always keep learning and to be adaptable in everything. Therefore, as a tutor I I've been told that I am very patient. What students will learn from me is the "why", the tiny details behind certain methods of work flow that I see being overlooked, but I will ensure my students will know these details to make them great.

In conclusion, you won't go wrong by choosing me as a tutor. I am a personable person whose only goal is to train people to be as great as they can possibly can. Thank you for the opportunity.

Drawing

Drawing

I studied art from an Art high school, Laguardia HS of Music, Art and the Performing Arts (the Fame school). I wanted to be a comic book artist, interning a Marvel Comics, so I have over 15 years of drawing experience. I know of different methods of sketching and shading techniques.
Film

Film

I have studied film for years. My Degree is in motion graphic and Visual effects, meaning not only did I study art I had to be knowledgeable in film, lighting, pre- and post-production, Various cameras, screenwriting, directing, editing, sound editing and film history. The key thing to remember about film is the story. The story of the character and how their story interacts with the main story. The real magic begins when you blend the mix of stories and making each frame a painting that viewers enjoy staring at. Every artist or film enthusiast have a mentor or favorite film director which they look to for inspiration. I have five (not in order) - Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Speilburg, Quentin Tarantino, James Cameron, and J.J. Abrams.
Photography

Photography

I studied the classic way of photography - by shooting with actual film stock and having to process and develop prints. I know shot composition, techniques on speed lighting and retouching photos. The most important things to remember is lighting is key to be a great photographer and being a people person, which allows your subject to relax and open up to capture them at their best. I know key aspects such as adjusting the right ISO, shutter speed and aperture. I know how to choose the correct lenses for the appropriate situation. Lastly, I know how to get the best shot from any style of camera, from professional DSLR to iphone.
Video Production

Video Production

My second degree is in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. Under that prerequisite I learned the entire process of pre- and post-production for film and video production. I have 13 years scriptwriting. I know every aspect of production from being a grip or gaffer, setting up lighting to story boarding, script breakdowns, camera set up and directing actors. One of the most overlooked aspects of production - Budgeting, is a key aspect, one I take pride in having knowledge in, is one of the most important ingredient in video production. I have directed, edited and composited music videos, infomercials, corporate videos and short films. I know the ins and outs of video production from micro budget to big budget films. The key is adaptation, knowing how to adapt to any situation during production to complete the job.
