I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), where I gained a strong foundation in science and teaching. During my time at FAU, I served as a Teaching Assistant for several years, assisting undergraduate students in Biology, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. I conducted review sessions, graded assignments, and provided one-on-one support, helping students grasp complex scientific concepts.
After graduation, I expanded my experience by teaching elementary school reading and math. Currently, I teach Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Geometry to 6th-8th grade students at HL Howard Elementary School. My diverse background has given me the ability to effectively teach students across various age groups and academic levels.
My teaching philosophy focuses on understanding each student’s unique needs. I identify comprehension gaps through active listening and observation, then tailor my instruction to bridge those gaps. I guide students using a three-step approach: teaching new concepts, supporting them through guided practice, and testing for understanding through formative assessments. I also incorporate critical thinking by encouraging students to connect concepts to real-world applications and use differentiated instruction to match their learning styles, whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic.
Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, with the goal of becoming a professor in academia. My advanced studies allow me to provide students with deeper insights and cutting-edge knowledge in Biology, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Mathematics.
My experience, combined with a student-centered approach and a commitment to fostering curiosity and confidence, makes me highly qualified to tutor in these areas. I aim to create a supportive learning environment that empowers students to succeed academically and beyond.
