Hello, my name is Chenille L\! I am a graduate of the University of Miami, and I graduated with the summa cum laude distinction with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with Minors in Psychology, Public Health, and Health Mangement and Policy. I was inducted into the Foote Fellow Honors Program, and I am an Isaac Bashevis Singer Scholarship recipient (a full-tuition scholarship). I am now embarking on the journey of applying to Physician Associate (PA) School while continuing my passion of tutoring others. I am a Level 2 Certified College Reading & Association (CRLA) Tutor as of April 2024.
I have been tutoring for the last two years, and I started at the Camner Center for Academic Resources at the University of Miami doing academic undergraduate peer tutoring. At Camner, I would do 1-on-1 tutoring, group sessions of two students, and host end-of-year review sessions with groups of 50 tutees. While at Camner, I had successfully completed at least 250 tutoring sessions. During my last year of undergraduate study, I also decided to embark on private 1-on-1 tutoring outside of the college campus setting. As a tutor, I follow the Tutoring Cycle Method to engage my tutees in active learning, while using strategies such as random reviews, exit-slip questions, and spoken elaboration of thought. All these strategies are conducted to ensure I discover any true disconnects my tutees have throughout the session so that they leave the session more confident in the material discussed.
