I graduated from Florida International University in December and have experience working with students in a variety of educational settings. My professional experience includes working as a substitute teacher, instructional assistant, and ESE (Exceptional Student Education) teacher. These roles have given me experience working with students of different ages, learning needs, abilities, and academic backgrounds. As an ESE teacher in particular, I learned the importance of adapting instruction to meet each student where they are and finding different ways to explain material when a traditional approach is not effective.
My interest in tutoring began during college, where I participated in peer-led tutoring and enjoyed helping classmates understand challenging material. I have also volunteered as an adult literacy tutor through the Pasco County Public Library System, which gave me the opportunity to support learners in developing their English reading and literacy skills. Reading and writing are two of my favorite personal pastimes, and I especially enjoy helping students build confidence in these areas. My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and individualized. I believe education should be accessible to every student, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. My goal is not only to help students complete their work, but also to help them develop skills, confidence, and a genuine understanding of what they are learning.
